# Ricki Walter

> Ricki Walter is the technical co-founder of Syncd Health (German: technischer Mitgründer), structured pre-therapy care for people waiting for psychotherapy in Germany. Product engineer in Berlin. Pronouns: they/them.

## Now
- Amber Hoffman and Ricki Walter are the co-founders of Syncd Health. Together they build structured pre-therapy care for the time between deciding to get help and starting psychotherapy in Germany. Ricki has worked on Syncd Health since July 2025.
- In Ricki's words: "Amber Hoffman runs our 1:1 navigation calls in English (syncd.health/en/navigation)."
- Around those calls Ricki builds the website and the booking, the legal and privacy pages, SEO and structured data, and the internal tools the company runs on.
- Before that Ricki built MAE, Syncd Health's first prototype, a voice companion for the wait.
- Syncd Health is in Cohort 8 of Vision Health Pioneers in Berlin, May 2026 to February 2027, after the SIB Startup Now mentoring at HWR Berlin in the first half of 2026.
- Claude Code is the tool Ricki uses every day. Most of Ricki's work is in TypeScript, React and Next.js.
- Not taking on freelance development projects. Now and then Ricki gives workshops on AI integration and rapid prototyping (half day, one day or several days), but most of their time goes to Syncd Health.

## Notable builds (system level)
- syncd-brain, the company brain: one repository for research, decisions and tasks, where AI agents do the legwork. Most of the work went into the harness around the agents (an agent is a model plus its harness), with custom skills for each field the company works in and a knowledge base where the claims used in public are checked against their primary sources. The founders get open questions one at a time, with context, and nothing decided gets lost.

## Earlier
- Shibari Study: interim CTO, December 2024 to July 2025. Built API integrations with Uscreen, Mailchimp and Facebook after the lead developer left; moved the team to Slack, Google Workspace and Notion dashboards; documented everything and onboarded a replacement developer.
- KPMG: web development, June 2021 to October 2023 (Angular frontends, TypeScript API integrations).
- SPICED Academy: UX/UI design programme, 2024.
- HWR Berlin: B.Sc. Business Informatics, 2017 to 2022. Top Talent Award 2018 and 2019 (top 4%). Exchange at Hong Kong Baptist University, Computer Science (DAAD scholarship).

## Off the clock
- Cycling everywhere, kickboxing at Chimosa, yoga for many years, bouldering now and then, mountain hikes, a week of snowboarding a year.
